Russian official sees chances for oil output freeze deal in Algeria

MOSCOW, Sep 23 (PRIME) -- There is a chance that oil producing countries will reach an oil output freeze agreement in Algeria, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich told Rossiya 24 television channel on Friday.

“We are holding a dialogue with our partners in OPEC and outside OPEC. The energy minister will discuss these issues with his colleagues in Algeria. We have already expressed earlier our readiness to reach an agreement if all main producing countries will participate and we certainly confirm our readiness,” he said.

“It is difficult to predict whether we will manage to reach such agreement, all people are complicated, all countries have their own interests. But nevertheless there is a chance of it, we will see how the situation develops,” Dvorkovich.

Oil producing countries are expected to discuss an oil output freeze at an informal meeting to be held during the international gas forum in Algeria at the end of September.
